About The Event
Oil Painting Class with Preet Srivastava alongside Breath and Movement practices with Kirti Srivastava. Kirti will be your live Model while Preet guides your artistic expression. All materials included; All paintings look different.
This class is unique in that you are guided on how to paint the story you want to. Everybody has something different to say. This class is unusual in that your painting will not look like everybody else’s because this is not a paint by number or step 1 step 2 kind of class. Unless you would like the steps. Art is the path to the unknown. Your painting will actually be original. This kind of environment will actually Inspire You how to Compose, Paint, and Create the meaning you want, like a real Artist, with a real Artist, in an easy going relaxed fun atmosphere.
Note; Each soul craves a different type of drink to draw, some like coffee, some like tea, some like wine, some like shots. It is up to you, the Artist, and how you want to create your experience.
preet srivastava attended The Academy of Art University of San Francisco, where she found her impressionistic expressionistic Landscape and Figurative style like the work of John Singer Sargent and Frida Kahlo.
preet has been an established Artist, owner of Galoka Gallery in La Jolla and co-creator of Governors Island Art Fair in NYC. She has also served as a Teaching Artist internationally for all ages and all levels for the last fifteen years and continues to do so with a series called "painting with preet" . preet is now back in California to paint and enjoy life, realizing that art serves a sacred purpose to remind us that a deeper meaning exists.
“I paint what I see. Looking for timeless in the temporal, infinite in the finite, and transcendence in the immanent. As it turns out, it is the same thing others are searching for as well. The only difference being, I painted it.”
preet is always looking for those who want to paint too!
“Bombay to Brooklyn” a ninety minute fine art documentary on preet srivastava was shown at the San Diego Film Festival. The trailer can be seen on YouTube at:
The Model & Movement Facilitator
Kirti Srivastava uses creativity and spirituality to ignite access to source divine. A dancer, yogi and an educator for over 20 years— she looks to connect our human existence to our spiritual calling. As a first generation American, Kirti has weaved constructs around race and identity with her spiritual work as well resulting in deep conversations around cultural appropriation, the role of patriarchy and the responsibility of human beings on this planet.
She currently works to promote peace through self love as a personal trainer integrating mindful fitness, a yoga philosophy teacher, an educational consultant bringing arts and spirit in to school culture, and as a movement medicine practitioner who facilitates individual and group energy healing practices through breath, sound and movement.
While she works hard to reverse the effects of ineffective schooling, Kirti has successfully navigated the matrix with the following pieces of paper:
-MS Education, Teacher, Instructional Coach, Associate Principal and Principal
-MA Curriculum and Instruction using Arts Integration, Educational Consultant
-Administrative Credential in Charter and Public Schools (Instructional Coach, Associate Principal and Principal for 6 years)
-ERYT 500 Yoga Alliance (Hatha Yoga Teacher Trainer, Children’s Yoga Teacher Trainer)
She speaks her ancestral lineage, dances her being through this existence and loves others through her personal growth and healing
